Simon Kipyegon Cherutich is a Principal Deputy Director Security at the University of Nairobi, a PhD student in Armed Conflict & Peace Studies in the department. He holds a Masters Degree in Peace & Conflict Management from Kenyatta University. His research interest is in the use of Alternative dispute resolution in the management of Conflict.

In this presentation, Simon will focus on the massive land acquisition of foreign actors largely, and government (in few instances) in Naivasha and its inverse effect of securing minuscule benefits to the local maasai people, resulting in making local communities poorer, abused, displaced, and their cultural ancestral land linkages destroyed.
